Terms and Conditions

• Smoking is not permitted in our vehicles.
• Some journeys we may ask for deposits or money up front, if this process is not successful we have the right to cancel the journey.
• Any abuse to our drivers or unacceptable behaviour or driver feels in risk the driver has the right to ask the passengers to leave the vehicle.
• Any abuse to our vehicles, our standard charge is £70 additional charges will be made to cover the costs.
• A standard journey is from one address to another, any additional pick ups and drops off will be charged for.
• All Toll charges and London Congestion charges are charged separately unless stated or told so.
• We have the right to cancel any booking at any time.
• A1 Cars does not accept any responsibility in the way for missing flights for whatever reason. i.e. Traffic delays, accidents, severe weather conditions, breakdown or any other unforeseen circumstances..
• Waiting time will be charged when we are requested to wait over and above any appointed departure time by the client. We charge £15 p/h and a minimum charge of £10.
• It is your responsibility to ensure that you have taken all your personal belongings from the vehicle. If the driver has to make another journey to return these belongings this will be charged for at a full price either by meter or fixed price.
• Minimum charge for a journey is £5 no matter how short the distance.
• If you order a taxi from Chelmsford into another town and then want to proceed your journey into another destination not in Chelmsford, we have the right to charge you extra by fixed or meter price if we provide this service. For example, you want to be picked up from Braintree and taken to Maldon, we would charge you metered price or a small fixed rate to leave Chelmsford, pick you up from Braintree and take you to Maldon. If you are unsure please write to us or do an online quotation.
• Please note telephone prices do not relate to our online website prices, so if your quoted on the telephone a price, please do not use our online service and expect a discount as our online business is totally separate.
• We charge double than normal quoted fare on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year Eve and New Years Day. If quoted online, you will still save 10% online discount for the double fare price.

Online promotion discount terms & conditions
10% off all online booking which includes airports, seaports and other long or short journeys. This offer does not apply to extra charges such as London congestion charge, car parking, toll crossings, waiting charges etc. Prices which are given verbally or over the telephone are totally different, so please do not expect to come online and get an extra 10% off as our online business is separate to our telephone business. Please note your booking is not booked until you have received a booking confirmation online and by telephone. If you do not receive a call within 48 hours please contact us and we will confirm your booking. If you have any questions please contact us.

*Airports prices which are stated on the “A1 Specials” page are based on standard saloon car from Chelmsford CM1 & CM2 areas. Discounts and prices from above do not apply to other charges such as congestion charges, car parking, waiting charges or any other sorts of extra charges. Please telephone us or quote online to get an accurate quotation. 10% offer is only valid when quoted and booked online.

Booking cancellations
Please give us as much notice as possible when cancelling your booking, if you have booked online could you cancel the booking by telephone to confirm the cancellation so we are 100% sure that the booking is cancelled. Failure to do so will result in full fare price or half the fare price due to time waste. This will be decided at the time of the cancellation. Minimum booking cancellation time is 2 hours. Payment
Payments can be made by cash, debit and credit cards only and we no longer accept cheques. We have the right to ask for payment before the booking has taken place or at the start of your journey. If you would like to know more about making card payments please click here.
